Todd Korgan News

Todd Korgan, groomed from an early age to take over the family restaurant (where he worked as a chef for almost a decade) put away his knives and sauté pans and enrolled in film school to follow his lifelong dream of becoming a filmmaker.

Since then, Todd has earned numerous awards as both filmmaker and commercial director. His short films have been honored in over two hundred festivals worldwide, including those at Sundance, Hollywood and Berlin. His last short, THE MAN IN THE EMPTY ROOM won the audience award at Singapore, best film at Rhode Island, and a special jury prize at the Northwest Film Festival from acclaimed director Todd Haynes (VELVET GOLDMINE, FAR FROM HEAVEN.) HAVE YOU SEEN PATSY WAYNE? went on to Sundance and JOHNNY BAGPIPES received a Juror’s Award from Christine Vashon (BOYS DON’T CRY, VELVET GOLDMINE, FAR FROM HEAVEN, KIDS, THE SAFETY OF OBJECTS) as well as other juror and audience awards internationally.  Another of his shorts developed for an Advertising Award Ceremony, DA DA DOGS, also went onto festival fame receiving the Northwest Film & Video Festival Juror’s Award from the Simpson’s creator, Matt Groening.

His commercials have been recognized with Addy and Telly awards and by the Association of Independent Commercial Producers (AICP).  His irreverent style has garnered him a reputation for creating humorous, memorable, attention-getting spots for clients such as Charter Communications, Time Warner, AOL, the PGA, Nike, ESPN, and Comedy Central.  He recently helmed the moc-documentary style ad campaign for his hometown team, the Portland Trailblazers.

Todd is a Native of Portland Oregon and still makes a mean Chicken Cordon Bleu.
